I have used this app for a long time (I have the purchased version). I love that I can add photos and create my own prompts, and the prompts that are there in the beginning are also good to utilize. I never had an issue until a few weeks ago. The app would crash every time I tried to open it. I didn’t want to delete it because I didn’t want to lose all of the memory filled entries I had made (probably close to a years worth), and I couldn’t remember the last time I backed it up to the cloud. After a couple weeks of hoping an update would occur to fix it, I ended up having to delete the app. Fortunately I only lost about a week or two worth of entries (not including the two weeks it didn’t open for me). I transferred all of the entries I had been keeping in my Notes app, backed the Grateful app up to the cloud, and continued to use it. But it was short lived. I am now experiencing the same issue. Even if I uninstall the app, reinstall it, restore my purchase, and import my data from the cloud, it tells me to restart the app to complete that process and then crashes all over again. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I would really appreciate a solution as I look forward to using this app every night before I go to bed. Until this issue is resolved, I would not recommend this app. Maybe others are having better luck than me.
I have been using this app for 2 years! I love it. It helps me to stay positives and log my memories. The customizability is also awesome. With a subscription, you can put in your own questions— so instead of just the cookie cutter “what are you grateful for”, I also added ones that are specific for me, like “what made you laugh today” and “what did you do to love Aaron (my husband)” and “what did Aaron do to love you today” and “reflect on God”. No other app has such customizability. I usually just answer the randomized question, but if something specific happened that day, I choose the question that best captures the memory I want to take down. You can also add pictures, which is amazing. 🤍 You can tag the posts, so you can go back and search them (ie, if it was something that happened at a certain place or with a certain person you can search and remember easily). You can also filter/categorize them by date or question. It’s just overall an awesome app with all the perfect features! Since the app has changed ownership, it has not functioned at all. It crashes upon opening. This is a bummer because of all my saved data from the past two years, which I love looking back on— because it is a general grateful journal, but also a log of my life. (Remember when / aww what a special blessing that was, etc). I am majorly cheering on whoever is working on fixing this. I want it back!! I have searched high and low. No other app will serve as a replacement. I miss ending my day with this habit. You can do it, whoever you are that is fixing it!!!
I’ve been suffering with Depression, Anxiety and Anorexia Nervosa and this was recommended to me by my therapist. I gave it a shot and it’s so easy to use. We all get stuck in a cloud of negativity but this will help you break from it. I started to notice after a few days of using this that I started to see the positivity in things. It’s changed my mindset to look at the good of the days we go through instead of focusing on the negativity as well as appreciating the good in our lives even if it’s as small as the smell of our shampoo bottle. I upgraded right away to the premium and made my own prompts! I highly recommend this app! I feel miles better than I did before!
