App’s Beautification feature does decent job for quick retouching that provides serious realistic subtle airbrush results at best, to more cartoonish just for fun styles. Highlights include the “relighting” option post retouch as well as “eye color” enhancement you can adjust on sliding scale. Not everyone is going to throw their pics into photoshop for retouch… AND that’s if you even work with Creative software. Overall, Gradient Beautification feature saves time as quick and dirty way for subtle to not do subtle retouch of headshots. I will not go into detail reviewing the controversial body modification option, which is unimpressive. Let’s just say, even the best photographic camera equipment STILL increases the size and appearance of human nose by twenty percent! Fun-fact for this reason is due to the medium of photography being such that it attempts to capture and force what is 3D, in this case, is humans, into 2D image, thereby distorting features that retouching corrects. It’s like the video camera, albeit much more realistic portrayal, compared to flat 2D photo, even HiDef, still adding proverbial “ten pounds” to human body frame. Just saying…things to consider.

Yeah this app is super sketch. The whole subscription thing didn’t really bother me mainly because I was only going to check out the ethnicity estimate and delete it after messing around for a bit, but the more I read the reviews while it was downloading, the more creeped out I got. Not going to go into detail here, just read a few of the other one star reviews, but I can tell you that I did check it out in settings and it’s really weird. Speaking of reviews, Jesus Christ are there a lot of fake ones. It’s pretty easy to tell that the five star reviews are fake, if you actually read them (which I know most people don’t because they’re looking for bad ones), and they all have really generic titles. One last thing. The devs did respond to one of the reviews talking about the sketchy stuff, (not the review that started it though hmmm) and the response also came off a bit weird to me. I don’t know if it just seemed not really genuine or a bit automated, but is didn’t really prove anything. Honestly, go ahead and download this app if you want, just read some more reviews because they go way more into detail then me.

I read in the news that this app was all the rage, so decided to give it a shot, and boy did I feel like a fool. This app is really nothing special and definitely not worth ANY money. Someone managed to very successfully “hack the system” to get this app so much attention when it really has zero to offer. First of all, before you can try or even see anything in the app, you have to sign up for a $20 monthly subscription (comes with a 3 day trial-period). You can cancel the subscription through your AppStore settings before the trial is over, but I imagine many will forget and get charged involuntarily. Apple’s new way of charging iPhone users is going to become very popular among the app developers, sadly! When I finally got access to the app functions, I can only say it was deeply disappointing. Filters and functions are not anything special at all, some of them are even really bad, you can get the same or better for free or a flat fee elsewhere. Secondly, the so-called face-comparison that’s supposed to tell you which celebrity you look like is complete and utter garbage, most people will get the same familiar results. Who else here looks like Angela Merkel raise a hand? The app just throws you random celebs and you’re supposed to think that’s funny? Please! Do yourself a favor and just stay clear of this app.
