I love the circles feature. It is such a great alternative to sending message to quorum members. I love being able to see messages being sent to my children as well in all their circles. If you have this app but are not utilizing the circles feature you are missing out on the peat feature the living app has to offer. The nice thing about it is when you move into a new ward you will be connected to the circle automatically. And for new members moving in it is great great they can already be connected. As a former elders quorum president I was hoping the church would come up with a better system to send messages to the quorum, because the massive group texts and emails or third party messaging applications was such a burden to maintain especially when you are in a ward with lots of members moving in and out. Circles solves so many communication problems, but you do have to do some legwork getting everyone to log into it and use it. I wish there was a way to make your own circles or have an admin make a circle for you. For instance, I am in a self reliance class in our stake and it would be nice if we all were in the same circle so we could share inspirational messages to each other throughout the week. Also I would like to make a circle for extended family members that live both within and outside the ward/stake. Is there a way to make this an option in a future update?
I am giving it 5 stars, but I hope someone in development will still read this review and take my plea into consideration. I use this app daily to meet goals and write in my journal. Sometimes it takes forever to even pop up on my phone. The checklists often freeze and don’t register my taps. So I have to go into settings and choose “show completed” and that usually works better. But I prefer for have completed tasks disappear. I thought it was my phone, but I just got a new one and it still struggles. So much. So much so that I want to see if I can access the app from my computer. I also wish there was a way to set a goal for 6 days a week, or 3 days a week, and have them show up on the days I want. Like a goal to exercise. I don’t want it on Sundays, but it has to be, and if I don’t mark it done, it shows my progress is lacking. So instead, my goal is to exercise or meditate 30 minutes a day. Which is fine. But there are other goals I really don’t want to work on every single day. I do have some weekly goals, and that works well. I want to say that as I’ve consistently used this app daily, I have seen so much personal growth and I love it! I don’t know if there’s a way to back up my journal or access it online or export it, but I sure hope there is. It has been a long, long time since I have written in my journal daily, but thanks to this app I am going on 5 months of daily journal entries!
I really like how the app is, I would just add one suggestion for the developers. The messaging system is not the best. It’s like a group text where if some people want to talk the rest get a lot of notifications. My suggestion is to make it more like a discord server. Where anyone can get on and talk but no one gets a notification unless they are specifically pinged. And if the leaders want to make an announcement of some sort, then they would do a general ping to everyone in that section. My ward is hardly on this except for the occasional announcement but when is youth want to talk, we do so at the risk of annoying thirty other youth. Some have mentioned that others could turn off notifications. But what if important announcements were made on it and they didn’t find out until it was to late. Or what if you enjoy the conversations but you are busy every once in a while. My name is Ezra Whitmer, I live in Washington which has been in lockdown for months. Us youth hardly get to communicate to each other that much, but I would love to see this app turn into the solution, we just need it to improve which is why I kindly advocate to the creators who have worked hard on this app I’m sure, to improve the messaging in this way. Do some research, I would advise into looking at the app Discord for inspiration. I am seventeen, I look forward to this apps future with a hopeful eye. And I hope this review makes it to the developers. Until then have a good day. (-:
