Gacha Memories - Visual Novel

I downloaded this years ago, but didn’t remember much of the plot. Recently I was reminded of the app’s existence, and when I played again, I noticed some problems. I find it disappointing that almost every character is attracted to mine. I understand that it’s romance, but not everyone has to like me. Good friendships could have been made, but no. EVERY girl character was flirting with me, and the only boy character was the only one that was just my friend. Also, these are supposed to be high schoolers, yet they wear inappropriate attire constantly. It’s weird too that one of the love interests is a goddess with CAT features! Why are we promoting furries as love interests. Why is a thousand year old being attracted to my character, who is a HIGH SCHOOLER!! It’s clear that this whole app is full of fan service, which saddens me. There’s a bonus game that focuses on two guys falling in love, and the feet are weirdly detailed. I don’t think that was very necessary. The characters also keep getting my gender wrong! I put myself as a boy, they’ll refer to me as a girl. I put myself as a girl, they’ll refer to me as a boy. Seriously??? Also, I could write any name, and the characters keep calling me Summoner! THATS NOT MY NAME!!!! I wouldn’t recommend this app. Too much fan service and a boring, predictable plot. Please do better, Lumine, I am very disappointed.

Ok, this has got to be one of the BEST anime visual novels that I’ve read. I went through a roller coaster of emotions going through this. I felt happiness, I felt excitement, I felt sadness, and I felt love (For the story AND the characters). And I’ve got to mention, the plot. Unlike other visual novels that I’ve read, this one’s story is not too confusing, nor simple. Things don’t just happen on their own for no reason to, other than, shock the reader. Everything is realistic and the characters are out of this world (literally, if you’re talking about luni,) but, even if they’re perfect in every way, they STILL find a way to balance their characters out. And, the best part is, everyone, including kuku, an (once) insane yandere, is still relatable and not unrealistic. She goes yandere mode for a good reason, and I like that. Next, the music. The music is soothing to my ears. Not because their actually smooth and calming, but because how well they match up with the story. And I even got a slight sense of nostalgia. Why? When I had to fight enemies, the boss music from gacha world played. But slightly remixed. That got me hyped for what was about to happen. I felt extreme joy and excitement from those moments. And when things get tedious or strange, some slightly creepy music plays. And, again, I felt extreme emotion from those moments as well. And the fact that if you take one of the gacha moon routes, you have a boss battle at the end. Some people complain that it’s too hard, and I think you should make it easier, but I personally have no problems with it. This has to be one of the greatest story modes ever. It can stand up to most of my console games. All the characters are so lovable and the endings are so cute. This is coming from a guy that plays Destiny 2, and even the great story of Forsaken trembles in fear in just how great this story is. One fix would be to nerf the difficulty of Sol in the final battle. It’s hard to pull off especially the final stage. Also, if you are straight, this game will NOT let girls date guys. You will be forced to be gay. Just add a few guy routes for the straight girls out there, plz. Other than that, great game. Keep reading for a spoiler filled review Now the endings. I love them all, especially Luni’s. It’s just super cute and really good. However what turns me off is the Sol battle, which could be better made. With so much going on, it makes it easy to fail. Same goes for Ellie’s and what’s her face endings. Now the other three. I like Kuku’s ending. It’s not really expected, her killing her other side for the main character, and, I loved it. Naomi’s is simple, but nice. Also, if you don’t really like any of the characters, Kugari’s ending is for you, just a little friendship ending for you. Really great game. Keep it up.
