Rich, the owner is amazing. Restaurant is always clean, friendly and the açaí bowls are so good. Lots of choices and other things like smoothies and toasts to chose from. Definitely recommend! My friend and I go to new places trying the açaí to find the best and Frutta Bowl is the best we have found in this area.
My negative review is based on the fact that there is no way in the latest version of the app to list allergies. The number of people with food allergies has expanded exponentially and this current version of the app is not allergy friendly. I was buying at least 3 açaí bowls from the location in my town every week and I now only order once a month. I have to call the store personally to place my order. I understand that some customers were taking advantage of having a free space to ask for extras and was not cost efficient for the store owners but this change ended up excluding the loyal customers with food allergies. By simply adding a section labeled allergies and listing all of the ingredients with a check box would solve this problem with little fear of customers taking advantage. Customers would not be able to add free items to their order but they would be able to let the preparer know of specific items to avoid.
The new Frutta Bowls app is a downgrade from their old one. Ignore anything with rewards, it is now more steps to order the same thing, it is more difficult or impossible to order menu items that you previously could (Power Bowl, oatmeal+acai), and the pictures in the app are less helpful. The way orders were saved previously without having to name them was nice too. I like customization, but sometimes I want to just click something and order not tap 10 times. Understanding what you ordered is harder too because you are only shown a list of words and a picture of fruit on top. No indication of what the base is or what toppings/boosts will end up in the bowl. I love Frutta Bowls so I hope they get this app fixed and more user friendly.
