Friendship Lamps

I upgraded to the remote option and I think it’s worth the money to be able to send and respond to my out of state niece, while out of the house. I rated this 4 stars because of lag issues. For example, I will select yellow on the app, but the lamp remains green. I’ll cycle through the colors and the lamp can’t keep up, even though I’m next to the lamp so there should not be connectivity issues. This is intermittent, though. A feature I would like to see are radio buttons where I can select the color I want, instead of cycling through all the colors, missing dark pink 5 times before I finally get it. I understand cycling is part of the charm, but it can get frustrating, especially since my niece only wants certain colors! I appreciate the remote option and I have no regrets with the purchase.

So I purchased a few of these devices for my family to stay connected, and the app definitely made it easier to set up. I tried a test setup of one with the app, one without and gosh was it a noticeable difference! The only thing that doesn’t feel 100% for me is that it took about 20-30 minutes from unboxing to being able to use each device, the vast majority of that was unplugging and plugging in the lamps. Obviously not something with the app since both methods used for setup required this, so don’t let that sway your decision, this app clearly helps. Overall, the app does what it needs to, does it well, and doesn’t pretend to do other than what it says. I fully suggest getting this if you plan on using these lights.

When I got this lamp for me and my girlfriend I was hoping we could assaying certain colors to be used as messages only we knew, so pink for I love you, blue for sad or yellow for happy as examples, unfortunately it seems the app only sets up the lamp and to do the barest form of customization to the lamp you have to use a website, and the customization is a bit of a joke, the lamp will stay on for the shortest time 30 minutes?! Why? Why not like a 5 minute option? On top of that the biggest one is I can select a color range… so green to red…. But not just a green color and a red color, it’s every color in between those two… would it be possible to add the dashboard to the app? And would it be possible to only pick say, 5 total colors from around the color wheel rather than just a range? That’s all I’m asking and id recommend the product to all my friends I spent 200 bucks on the two lamps with the idea of sending secret messages you know, thank you -Nick
