Freesat

The app could be brilliant but keeps freezing on viewing what’s on telly you have to keep closing app wait a while then pop back in and works for about 30sec and then keeps crashing and freezing which is a shame as layout is real nice with really good features but it’s so so annoying when it keeps crashing and freezing I thought it was my phone so tried other apps Freesat..and no problem just this one so tells me my phone is just fine please try and fix app mr/miss developer as it could be a bloody brilliant app if it didn’t have theses issues I’d would of been quite happy to pay for an app like this for a premium version .. but as it stands it need a complete upgrade and make over I’m sorry to say great pity..

I bought the 4K box because all of the “blurb” says use your iPhone whilst out, (in case you forgot to set a recording etc), use the phone in the house, (in case you have misplaced your remote). (Exactly like you can with both the Sky and BT apps). I spent hours yesterday trying to link my iPhone 12 max pro, only to find on here that my problems with doing this existed 2 years ago and nothing has been done to rectify the issues….I know…it’s my fault I should have read these reviews earlier. Come on “app programmers” get yourselves a well earned pat on the back and get things sorted…. Or of course change your misleading advertising to tell the truth. I am willing to eat my words of course if someone can tell me there is a “fix” already!

We recently purchased the new Freesat 4K recordable box (delivered only a week ago). Unfortunately, neither of us have been able to successfully link our iPhone 7s to the new 4K recordable box via this Freesat app, which is supposed to allow us to link (pair) our mobile phones to our Freesat box - thus allowing our iPhones to act as a remote control. Also, we are unable to do standard programme scheduling successfully as the app does not not show any programme that is scheduled and we cannot edit/delete watched programmes. This is very disappointing especially as the manual for the new Freesat 4K recordable box advertises the use of the Freesat app for users of iOS devices, hence why we downloaded the app from the App Store. We contacted Freesat Customer Support last week about this and was advised this is a known issue and, as yet, iOS users cannot pair with the Freesat 4K recordable box and we have to wait until such a time an update/patch us released. This is surely something which should be highlighted to customers, as at the moment we can see no mention of this issue by Freesat. As an aside to the app, we also find Netflix is not working on our new recordable box and this has reported and now escalated to the Freesat technical team - and we are still awaiting a ‘fix’ on this. All-in-all, a very poor start as new Freesat customers only one week in to using this system.
