This is a beautiful fan. I ever way. Except there is one major design flaw. The ONLY way to operate it is with the remote. If you lose the remote., which I promise you will, you can’t operate the fan. This happened to me when the fan was set to 6 and the light was at its brightest. When I went to turn everything off, going to bed, I could not find the remote to save my life. I had to sleep in sunglasses with a pillow over my head. There honest are no other remotes that work with this fan. I bought a few. I did find my remote FINALLY and was able to calm down. As I said, it’s a really nice fan. Works great, quiet and light is dimmable all the bells and whistles except for one. Just 1 “special“ remote that you really better not lose because the fan will be stuck wherever you had it. As I said, a major design flaw.

The app controls the fan and lights okay, but the initial pairing instructions are a little confusing. They seem to be working on making them clearer. The app is not intuitive with the light controls. The unit I have has a separate white and color lights and it’s not clear in the app which icons control which lights or what options each has (on, off, dim, color, pre-programmed light changes etc). They need to separate those controls and make the options easier to manage. The fan control is simple, works great but is oversized. They could reclaim some of that space by making the fan graphic smaller and add better light controls.

I’ve been using this app for a while, and I really do like it: it’s functional, does what it needs to, and doesn’t have ads all over the place. Truly the only reason I have a star off is because of the personal issues I have (which aren’t even horrible issues except for one). Issue one: the app isn’t usually updated, in the sense that the light is on and the fan is off but when I open the app is displays the opposite for each. This is a simple fixing by double clicking it for each or simply turning on the fan but it’s just a small thing I notice. The second issue though is more problematic in my opinion. I don’t use audio alarms as they have never had particular success with me, but light usually works. I don’t, however, like having my blinds open, so I instead like to turn on the lights with an app. My past light bulb, I used had an app to turn on the light at a scheduled time. When I changed the whole fan, however, this app does not have that and I feel like it could be a simple fix. If it gets fixed, I will move my review to five stars.
