ev.energy: Smart EV Car Charge

I was genuinely excited to try this app, especially since it was promoted by my local electric company. They did pay out the initial incentive, which gave me confidence—at first. But I quickly became concerned when I realized they required my Tesla login credentials, giving them full access to my vehicle’s controls, location, and data. That crosses a serious privacy and security line. One time, I urgently needed to charge, but since it was peak time, they cut off access—which left me stranded and disrupted my plans. Even worse, I was shown an active $1 incentive that was supposed to pay out last month, and it never came. When I reached out, their support team claimed it was a “false” incentive and that nothing was owed. So not only was there zero actual benefit for the month, but the service team was dismissive and unhelpful, offering nothing more than a generic apology. I’m done with the app. I’m revoking their access to my vehicle and would caution others to think twice before giving up that level of control and personal data. This service is unreliable, and the risk is not worth it.

I recently installed this app, and unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. Firstly, I attempted to change my settings but was unable to do so. Ever since the installation, my home charger has not been responding the way it used to. Additionally, I can’t remove my vehicles without contacting support and waiting for a response, which feels unnecessary. Why can’t I manage that myself? I also wanted to increase the amperage on my charger to 48a, something I could easily do before installing the app, as I need my vehicle fully charged for the next day. Now, the app has blocked my charger from charging at a higher amperage. I’ve requested to close my account, and I was informed that it takes up to 7 days to process. Overall, this has not been a good experience, and I find the app to be quite useless for my needs. I hope improvements are made soon.

Why wouldn’t you want to get paid for something so simple?
