Dunnes Stores

I am a regular grocery shopper with Dunnes Stores. In general, it is a good place to shop & carries a good selection of products. The one thing that takes away from it being a very good shopping experience is the extreme shortage of SMALL Trollies in The Marshes, Dundalk! I regularly encounter other shoppers following other shoppers in an attempt to secure their small trolley when they finish with it! Over the past 2 years, I have asked management several times & Emailed Customer Service to no avail. Each time, I am advised that additional trollies will be provided, however, to date this has not happened! Interestingly, there are 3 major supermarkets located within a few hundred yards of the Marshes Dunnes; Tesco, Aldi & Lidl … all of which have absolutely no shortage of small trollies at any time of day! I consider it disrespectful of Dunnes not to provide these small trollies for use by older customer & for those of us with back issues who are unable to use the larger trollies. Please advise when sufficient small trollies will be provided in Marshes Dundalk?

Hi I was in Dunnes Stores grocery store in the Ilac Centre on Wednesday, unfortunately I had a close encounter with a cooked chicken that leaked through the packaging and ruined my jacket, leggings and a top I had just purchased a few minutes earlier. I was very upset and at a loss as to what to do. Luckily for me there was a manager by the name of Gerry on duty, he immediately took control of the situation and helped me clear the mess, he apologised and offered a few suggestions as to how we could resolve the matter. He was so nice and so helpful that instead of leaving the store feeling angry I actually left feeling that I had been well cared for and that everything would be okay. He was professional, friendly and proactive and promised he would talk to the manager in charge of the cooked foods and I would get a call the next day !! Sure enough the call came, this time I spoke to Sean who was well informed of the incident and immediately apologised and offered what I felt was a fair solution to resolve the problem. He was very helpful and I got off the phone feeling very impressed. I genuinely feel that Gerry and Sean turned what could have been a negative experience into a positive one by their excellent customer care and professionalism and I would like you to extend my thanks to them. Ps My husband called into the store on Friday and met another gentleman ( sorry I don’t have his name) who again was extremely helpful so well done all around. Many thanks .

I was in Dunnes Store today. The staff were friendly and helpful. I bought my goods and it was hassle free. I have noticed an increase in prices. The €10 voucher is a great asset to any customer but it is negated by rising prices. I have been comparing with other stores and Dunnes is not as competitive as it was in terms of prices. The new trolleys are great. The old ones were impossible to steer properly. The introduction of a hand held price scanner for the customer would eliminate queues and the price of an item is clearly seen and corresponds to the listed price on the shelf. As a regular customer I have not noticed a discrepancy between the shelf listed price and that charged at the check out. This should not happen. I am a diligent shopper and I pay attention to prices and I compare prices with different stores. Dunnes is getting more expensive. I have no problem with cleanliness or presentation. Both are of a high standard but I can get items much cheaper in other stores. This is the key factor for me with a limited budget. Thank you
