Driving Test Cancellations App

Great - I was having multiple notifications of test availability but were too soon (I had a month of lesson as couldn’t get a test so paused lesson) I located a test 19/12 - I managed to find earlier dates myself and moved to 10/11 but this took time and effort in checking the website multiple times so invested in the app which moved date 40 days earlier again. The only negative is the auto booking I couldn’t see if you could select specific dates e.g instructor availability is only Monday-Thursday so would be good if could select the days of the week within the date period. If it’s there I couldn’t see it only a date range from x to x. But overall pleased. You’ve just to get your initial test with DVLA before using which was difficult in itself but once you’ve got the test booked this app is great for searching for cancellations to bring that date forward

Used this service and saved 87days from original test date! Originally I signed up for free one, had one cancellation test date but was only two days earlier and not at convenient time. So signed up and paid for full app. Didn’t get anything for ages but knew tests were coming available so couldn’t understand but you need to tweak the settings and notifications. Would be good if you could set up multiple mobile numbers to receive notifications as I wasn’t always available to see and book in time 14 mins isn’t long enough! Didn’t want to use auto book one just because of dates and times etc. It did eventually work. Got 2 dates and times missed the first one took too long to load and save date. But a second one came popped up for hour slot later at the same time couldn’t believe it. Quickly locked it in then realised test was then in 4 days time. Great news passed first time! So it does work just need to keep checking as well! Annoying thing was if you only book weekday test they still send you weekend ones really frustrating as DVSA have two tier rates so you can’t book it and pay later which is a pain! Either DVSA need to have one rate for all or allow booking and paying later the difference? So this is not the app fault but there could be a better way to allow this to work or not send weekend cancellation dates if only week day is booked!

I used this app to get two earlier driving tests. In that sense, it works really well. If you need an earlier driving test, it will definitely find one for you. However, there are some pain points. The first being the UI; it’s clunky and not very intuitive. The most aggravating thing is the fact that your search is automatically stopped if you repeatedly don’t accept the driving tests offered to you. I understand the reasoning behind this, but if a test isn’t suitable, it isn’t suitable. At one point, I hadn’t accepted a new test yet, but I didn’t get a notification that my search had been stopped, and I didn’t notice for over a week! I was so annoyed when I saw that the search had been stopped and I’d missed out on precious time. That leads me onto the next thing — I found that I was being offered tests outside of my preferences, specifically outside of my selected date range. Obviously I would not accept these tests, so it was a pain having to go in and reactivate my search manually after ignoring these tests that I never asked for in the first place. Finally, it is NOT made clear that if you fail a test it finds for you, you have to pay around £14 to reactivate your account. This is a rip off when you’ve already paid for the top tier subscription and only adds to the financial strain of learning to drive. Sneaky and not appreciated at all. Overall it does what it claims to do, but watch out for these few negatives.
