Provided you have some verified photo ID like a passport then was quick and easy to have a trusted ID app on your phone. “Post Office” is widely recognised so should be no problems using it - which I have yet to do in earnest. Just updated to latest version (may 2025) and much more facilities have been added. New app only works on iOS 16 or later so not on my old iPhone 7. Bit of a pain moving app to new iPhone 12 as it could not find my recovery file. Had to start over again.
Hello fellow App Store User, I am writing this review after contacting multiple people on the support team and I keep being told that the EasyID does not support the Post Office PASS Card. However, the letter that came with the card as well as the app itself says it should be supported. In the case of the app, there is a button in the ‘Select your ID document’ section which clearly says Post Office PASS Card. For the letter, it says that the EasyID app is the OFFICIAL app for the card. I will update this review if the situation changes such as the button is removed or they are supported again. Edit: I have contacted support and the Post Office PASS card is supported by not the current template - as of 12 of November 2022 - until this is updated, the app is useless for people with a current PASS Card from the Post Office.
Downloaded the app as I regularly purchase stuff online from forums, Gumtree etc. And the problem with buying from forums and sites like Gumtree is that you have no idea who you are dealing with. The share/swap details function in the app is excellent as it helps to verify the person you’re either buying from or selling to without asking them to send a photo of their passport or driving license (nobody wants to do that because of fear or sending pics of identity documents in this day and age) so this app is really great as you get to verify the other person. Helps with peace of mind. Read the other reviews here and some people seem frustrated that it’s not accepted everywhere. But reality is that this is a new and emerging way to use identity, so it’s gradually being rolled out and starting to become more popular. Be patient people! This is the future of I.D. and will eventually become commonplace.
