As a mom, I’d give this game an age rating of 16+ & I’ll clarify why at the end. This is the first and only game I have ever enjoyed so much that I’m writing a review for, so that alone says a lot! If you love dragons, simple gameplay, easy-to-learn mechanics, and most of all, COLLECTING, this is THE mobile game for you. The daily check-in and mission rewards are generous, trading/buying hard-to-get dragons for your collection is easy (other than a few untradables or having to wait for someone to put one up for sale/trade), there are so many dragons to collect it feels ENDLESS, and the balance between having too much and not enough to do is just right (even when you’re raising 20+ dragons at a time). I check this game two or three times daily to take care of my dragons and do missions and in my year of playing it I’ve never felt like I was spending too much time on it at once or gotten frustrated that there was hardly anything to do. All around awesome game, my only complaint is that sometimes in the game chat (which you can’t disable) people will say suggestive things or use tricks to get around the profanity filter, so I don’t recommend letting a child play it unsupervised (you can toggle the chat to not pop up new messages, but it resets to default every time you reload the app). All around 5-star game for dragon lovers and fans of collection-centered games!
This is how mobile games are supposed to be: simple, but fun and relaxing. The core gameplay is really similar to Dragon Cave(a old dragon virtual pet browser game), but has a lot of other features. Like pvp, fishing, base designing, minigames, and alliances. The art style and animations are really nice. The dragon designs are diverse and fun to look at. ZERO grinding is required for getting good stuff. There’s no pressure and low stakes, making this game a relaxing experience. The microtransactions are not shoved in your face unlike most games you’ll find on the app store, which I really love. I also feel like the developers are taking community feedback seriously, which is also wonderful. Watching ads is required for some things, but they’re few and far between, so they don’t impact the experience at all. I hope this game becomes successful, because we need more like this. Three main flaws after playing for a few days: Some of the features are poorly explained due to lack of detail, this is a big problem for the combat system, which I’m still figuring out. And as far as I can tell, there’s no guild chat, and there seems to be no purpose in joining a guild. The number of basic features that require watching an ad each time is annoying. There should be an option to pay five dollars to remove ads completely.
As the total states I love the game. I found this from a random ad and since I love pixel art I decided to get it and, I’m really happy I did. The pixel art is gorgeous and the game is pretty fun to check in on every few few hours. It’s pretty easy to start the game and you can get a lot of cute dragons from exploration and the shelter. Their isn’t much need to spend real money on the game unless you want a background for your dragons, monthly dragons, and collab dragons ,but a few events recently have prizes where you can get a background element for free. The events are also really good, if you log on daily and do all the daily missions for the event you can get lots of good stuff like dragons. I also really love the addition of the dragon drink exchange! You can get about 100 dragon drinks daily from daily missions or get some from selling random dragons you have. And from the exchange you can get basically any dragon if you save up enough! I also really love the new continent! All the dragons look really cool! One of my only problems with the game is the loading time to get into which I understand but it gets annoying when I don’t have good Wi-Fi and have to wait maybe a minute to check in on my dragons.I also understand the updates but it’s a little annoying when I want to play with no Wi-Fi but there’s a download where I need Wi-Fi, essentially making me wait to play the game until I have good Wi-Fi. Honestly the game is really great, and I can’t wait to see more!
