I bought this app in 2017, when it was called something else. After trying the free version, I decided to purchase the PRO version outright, thus allowing me to use all of the features. They had two apps, one for free and one paid version. I deleted the free version. As of Oct. 2023, I am no longer able to access any of the paid features without a subscription. I contacted Mafooly, but they will not fix my account, instead offering me a year of free paid service. I bought the app OUTRIGHT, as evidenced by having the PRO version of the app, but now I am being conned into paying for it again, but this time on a monthly basis, because, thatโs the Corporate Culture: Calculated Misery. Thatโs an actual term. I suggest you all learn it, because we have entered the age where tech is no longer a tool, but a costly imposition, and these greedy tech companies are trying to scam us.
This app was super easy to use and did everything the other apps are charging $4.99 per month. This one is only $5.99 a quarter. Which turns out to be $1.99 a month. Also, other apps make you pay for a full year up front. This one just $5.99 for the first quarter. There is nothing to complain about. The only add on I wish they had was to add 30 sec music clips to the animations. But thatโs not a big deal. If youโre not sure they have a 3 day trial. You can cancel before you get charged the $5.99. I enabled a subscription on my 78 year old moms phone. I havenโt had to be tech support. Thatโs how I know itโs super easy! ๐
It is an interesting app but as provided, it allows only one edit. Suppose you cut an image and need to clean up the edges, you get one shot with the eraser. The eraser doesn't display the eraser size so it is fairly easy to erase a portion of the image you want. There isn't a paint back part of the image erased. There isn't a step back type undo so you start all over again if your one shot edit isn't perfect. If you are cautious with the eraser, and need to erase a bit more, well you can't do that either, so you start all over again. There is an unlock that costs up to $9.99 to make the app more functional but it appears it is still lacking what's needed. If you are looking for Photoshop type functionality, this isn't it. Think of cutting out a picture from a magazine page with dull scissors where you cannot see the edge of the scissors. Then you can make one adjustment with an eraser where you cannot see the size of the eraser. Unless you want to pay to see if it is useful, I'd pass on this app. The free version is severely crippled, to the point it is unusable. It'll cost money to loosen up the crippling so you can actually see if the program will do what you want. The selection is pretty much a simple cut. There is no feathering, no smart type selection, no edge detection type selecting, no adding to a selection, and no way to continue to adjust your cutout, and no way to change the tool size. I'm deleting this app.
