CoinOut: Receipts for Rewards

I have been using CoinOut for a couple years and I didn’t really think I could make money just for taking pictures of receipts but it is true! And super easy! All you have to do is save your receipts and take pics of them and depending on how much you want to cash out on is how long it will take to get enough points. But honestly it doesn’t take long at all for the small amount of work you are putting in. For example, for me it takes about a couple months to get enough points to earn 25$. I prefer to have it sent to my PayPal but there are other options. I have yet to have enough to get the $50 reward because I usually stop at $25 but if you wanted to let it build up you have that option also. I would recommend this app to everyone! Everyone finds themselves sitting around on their phone so why not make a little cash for some pictures of receipts? Not hard work and easy cash out process with when you are ready to cash out points!!! I have never had any issues or sketchy transactions or problems ever .

Coin Out started out with minimal rewards & minimal partners, but improved to a point where it was fun to use when paper receipts were more popular and then earlier this year it changed its earning & rewards system to where users HAVE to obtain paper receipts & snap photos & said user, must photograph quite a number of “qualifying” paper receipts in order to redeem earned coins for points. AND in addition to encouraging the killing of trees for paper, Coin Out customer support (Vinod, via email) has also went downhill. I could not redeem any of my 22,000+ points for any e-gift card because the reward section showed ALL rewards with a padlock, and Vinod said I didn’t photo a single receipt in June, even though I had automated emails from CoinOut stating I had unlocked all reward levels & my account receipt history showed lots of photographed receipts & the summary screen showed that I had unlocked every level of reward. Vinod responded once stating that I didn’t take any receipt photos in June and just disappeared. I won’t be using it anymore if I am FORCED to use paper receipts when electronic receipts are an option and reward redemptions are not unlocked properly.

We tried this app and right away we started having issues with receipts constantly having something that made them invalid. The last one was 2 receipts from Wawa that were literally 2 minutes apart and we sent them pics showing the transaction numbers were sequential and the time difference of 2 minutes and they said it was still invalid like I can control if their ink is low on their receipt printer. We had the same exact issue with receipt pal, receipt hog and fetch but when we asked them to just look at the receipts all of them could see it was a simple error and they fixed it. All of them except for CoinOut. This is the 3rd time they’ve done this where they won’t give credit for something we can’t control. Save yourself the headache and just use the other apps that will give you what they say they will and not make every transaction difficult. The last thing any of us want is for an app to give you problems and then when you try to get help they don’t do a thing to help you. I sent them pics and all you have to do is look at them and see they are from the same store, date and time but because the 3 is hard to read they automatically just won’t give me the credit and the other receipt is identical! Thanks for nothing Vinod. If helping people is too difficult maybe you should find another job.
