Downloaded the app, created an account, plugged in the Clickfree device into my phone, gave it permission to access photos and data, and it backed up all my photos and videos to the memory stick on the device. I plugged in the Clickfree device into my computer and I could see all my photos and videos on the memory stick as if it were a USB drive. I copied them to my PC hardrive which backs up to Google Photos. Worked flawless. I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews.

To address the issues that others have found: This external backup seems to work the same way as my other backup drives for my Mac devices, requiring some patience especially for the first backup. * One has to constantly keep the screen active by touching the screen or touchpad (i.e., don’t let your screen go to sleep) to keep the backup drive from locking up.* I know this isn’t convenient for a busy schedule! But maybe do the backup when you’re sitting in one place, hopefully watching a good movie. ;) For years, I’ve found this happens with my computer’s primary external backup drives, which are more complex than the CF thumb drive. *If the CF locks up, then disconnect the device, restart the app, and start over. But the prior photos you had already downloaded will load faster because they’re already in the CF drive.* Annoying? Yes!!! But there’s a workaround. While I’ve just now used the CF to back up my photos, I haven’t tried accessing and ordering prints from it yet. Keeping my 3 stars until then, and I’ll update my review if I have any further issues or compliments or issues.

I feel so much better because my phone was broken and I couldn’t see what was on the screen. I was able to use this and crave every single photo and video. My daughters first dance recital my sons hockey game I would absolutely go crazy if I didn’t have this and make sure that it was right in my hand. I highly recommend experience
