celtx script

It’s a really good app and it does what it’s meant to do (writing scripts) I’ve used it multiple times to write scripts I’m even making a movie using the script I wrote on this app. But besides that it’s a very good app lots of features and will help write you a perfect script, but! Because it has so many features and is a very good app it’s very laggy and sometimes will kick you off the app and won’t let you back on until a day later or days later. It also says to make an account on the app every time you use it I suggest you do so because it might help decrease the lagging and help it run smoother. Now I didn’t have an account until a few days ago and have noticed it let me use the app longer and didn’t kick me off as much so definitely make and account you don’t have to pay for one either so it’s really good. But other than it being kinda laggy it’s a great app! And if you debating weather or not to get it here’s my opinion, get it just get it and if you don’t like it delete it. It’s that simple lol but anyways hope whoever read this has a great day and that my opinion helped! Xoxo

I used to love this app until it started crashing every time I try typing and told me it couldn’t connect to the server. I updated the software on my iPhone 7+ to ios 15 and that’s when the problem began. Later I had to restore my phone because of an unrelated issue (wipe all the memory) and the problem persisted. I could use the app but had to try reopening it like 5 times until it would stop crashing. Later I upgraded my iPhone 7+ to the 13 and was hoping it was a software issue specific to my device but the same thing happened on the 13. In addition, The layout isn’t designed to fit a phone without a time button because every time I try to make a note the “done” button is stuck behind the battery icon at the top right of my screen and I have to quit the app and reopen it, which triggers the whole crashing issue again. It says it’s unable to contact the server so my guess is that the crashing issue is related to the Celtx cloud and it’s really annoying. I absolutely loved this app when it worked and was super bummed when it stopped. I’m not hopeful that the problem will be resolved because the App Store said the last update was 4 years ago. I love this app, but it needs an update.

It is handy, but the mobile version always tends to jump back to the top of the page instead of staying where you last stopped, so every so often you have to scroll through the entire thing just to find your previous spot. The cloud-save mechanism can be a lil iffy too because this happened to me once where I was working on a script on the Celtx website on my desktop, saved it there. Then later I tried to edit that draft on my iPhone; what I didn’t know at the time was the version of the draft on my app hasn’t been updated yet, so it was still an older version with none of the new pages. I don’t know why it didn’t update automatically since I have data, but once I opened it, Celtx assumed this old one was the latest version and overwrote everything else on the cloud. Just talking about it sounds confusing. But I almost lost a good chunk of work. Luckily Celtx does offer decent backup on the website. Nevertheless, it’s a scary moment and makes it hard for me to trust the cloud. It’s also difficult to be precise with placement on the mobile version. I have fat fingers, so I need to add a word or two in between existing words, it can take a while because it keeps highlighting things or words that I don’t want it to.
