The company I work for gives us a $1000 childcare benefit and this year has contracted Care to administer it. They make it extremely difficult to use our benefit and look for any reason to deny the claims First of all they can never find childcare providers to meet the need and they don’t tell you until the night before you need coverage for work. So you scramble at the last minute to find someone yourself last minute. If for whatever reason you receipt doesn’t match the times you requested (like say your sitter that u had to find last minute was available until 7and you normally start at 6 but because you had no one to watch your kids because Care didn’t let you know until the night before so you had to go in late) they will deny your claim for reimbursement. Not only do they look for any reason to deny your claim it also takes them a whole month to tell you they reviewed and denied your claim and that you need to resubmit because you’re is about to expire. And it will take another month for them to review the claim again. When you call, everyone has such a thick accent you can’t always tell what they are say and it’s hard to tell if they even understand you because their responses are often strange. The company we used before understood how to be more flexible and as long as the childcare hours lined up with our work schedule for that day it wasn’t a big deal and they were much faster. I’d give negative stars if I could. Hope we can rid of these guys next year
I have been using Care for a few years, first as a sitter and now as a new parent. The parent side is actually really great, and helped connect me to an almost overwhelming number of great, qualified candidates. I also love that people have to be background checked. But on the caregiver side, the app is less user friendly. It’s harder to get your profile removed or hidden when you stop wanting to take new clients. Also, I have seen sitter profiles where parents who did not hire the sitter were able to leave negative reviews, which affect the sitter’s star rating unfairly. I also don’t think the app should allow people who are offering significantly under the sitter’s stated rate to request a sitter to apply for their job, and I don’t think sitters who are charging significantly more than a job posting offers should be able to apply for the job. Overall, the app does a great job connecting parents and caregivers, but could use work on facilitating some better matches, offering an easier interface for caregivers, and helping to foster respectful professionalism between providers and parents.
The app does allow different people to sign in to look for jobs, but anyone can make an account. I spoke with different people and half of them the only experience they had was caring for their own family members or own children. They expected you to be okay with having their children with them while watching your child and charge anything above 20+. Pretty much all those stay at home moms were able to make a living getting Pay about the same or more than you while you work hard for your family And they get to be with their children. The other half was owners of homedaycares. Our post was very detail but they still expect us to figure something out for us to be able to put our child in their home daycare. The people we spoke with stop replying after we told them the hours were after 8pm. EVERYONE IN THIS APP ONLY WORK BUSINESS HOURS. I understand everyone is trying to make a leaving but people are not being screened there is not an actual way to find their references at all and the character count is very limited to know more about the people who offers their services. Literally ANYONE can post about being a care taker for over 10/15 or more years when in reality they are 20? I requested a refund and I was told they were unable to issue it because I use Apple Pay. I’m really upset I wasted valuable time looking for care for my child and spent $40 of our hard earning money to talk with people that wanted easy money and were nothing like what is advertised.
