Great app for chores, money, and savings...

Very easy and simple way to create chore lists, assign responsibilities and dish out allowance for doing the chores or holding back allowance for not doing or doing a poor job for a chore. I use it for chores, extra stuff around the house and weekend for extra allowances and bonus pay for good grades or special achievements. The save partition goes they stockpile to help intro savers learn about savings and buying their first stock thru a custodial account- my son wanted Xbox/ Microsoft because everybody at school and options of it are always so high. And my little girl wanted American Girl/ Mattel that owns toys and dolls for obvious reasons- after first investment and they’re hooked on ownership of companies and different stock that happened to coincide with learning it in school with tokens to own Apple stock- The savings is great but they need to expand the list of charities to at least the extent of stocks offered with maybe St Jude’s children’s hospital, Heifer international, something more than they’re short list- but was contacted by CEO and told BusyKid 2.0 coming soon! Hopefully it also has more options to create a chore with more stock photos to use or at least ability to use camera to take a pic of completed chore and add to chore assignments... once they upgrade, improve chore features and charity options I will definitely re-review for 5 stars instead of 4! Good luck and luck forward to busykid 2.0 soon, hopefully?

BusyKid concept is amazing! App lacking...

I downloaded this app after seeing a news story about it through Facebook. I love this concept and my 5 kids ranging 17-8 are motivated to do chores and earn money, buy stock, etc. The website is great and the busykid concept is fantastic. However, the app is not intuitive and has a learning curve. I had to watch videos on the website to figure things out. My kids all have access to their own handheld devices but without that, kids might not find this app useful or motivating. I would recommend this app because it teaches the difference between how much money you earn versus how much money you actually get to spend (love the save/share feature). It motivates my kids to take responsibly for how much they earn. But I would not recommend using the reloadable gift card or other services besides stocks. My kids mark the chores they’ve done each day then just request the cash from me on “payday”. It’s not immediate after they do a chore and they do have to wait until the following weekend to get paid...this is genius and a good prep for adult life. But regarding the app, if I hadn’t been willing or able to use the website, I likely would cancel the service.

Not good

I have discussed many many issues regarding this app. They do not value their customers as much they value their business partner. My son and I had such bad experience with the app and it is imperative that future or existing customers should know. My son informed the debit card was not working. I just sent him off for a trip with his cousins, and I did not give him cash because I was confident that he has full access with his money on his debit card. The debit card all if a sudden was deactivated due to some suspicious activity which was falsely accused by their partner and I have stated to them i can do instant identity verification or any verification they require for them to reactivate my son’s debit card. No action was taken and my account was closed all of a sudden. Which now, like what i have said before there was no fraud, because I myself will report if there is any fraudulent activity in my account. I called the cardholder services and told me to call you because they do not know why the debit card was restricted. I was deeply worried about my son so I sent him money through Western Union. But the fact that this company did not act on an emergency situation i had and without any notification from them was just beyond unprofessional. I have discussed this to Mike. He did not value me and my son as a customer and as a consumer.
