Iโve been using this app for a long time, and it used to be absolutely fantasticโsmooth, reliable, and worth every bit of its praise. Unfortunately, after the latest iOS update, the experience has taken a turn for the worse. There are now constant bugs that make the app nearly unusable. It crashes frequently, takes forever to load, and some key features I relied on either donโt work or are incredibly glitchy. Itโs frustrating because I know how great this app can be, but right now, it feels like an afterthought. I hope the developers are working on a fix soon. Until then, itโs hard to recommend this app in its current state. If youโre considering downloading it, maybe wait for a future update.
I was stoked to find that Bunnings PowerPass had an app but boy has it just let me down again and again. First of all itโs super slow, try searching for a product and that little magnifying glass keeps on spinning and spinning. Most of the time even if you put the I/N number in it doesnโt even show what product you want. Surely it could only show the one product. The search function can also be very vague with the results it gives you - I feel like the more specific you are the less likely you are to find what you want. If I search for sandpaper why would it show me workboots and bearings???!! Being able to create your own job lists for products is great and showing the PowerPass price is great too, but only when it works. I would like to be able to rely on this app a lot more for pricing jobs saving me time, but itโs just taking way more of my time than it would going through the website. I find myself using the Bunnings Product Finder app more than the Powerpass app, but that can be a pain too and kinda defeats the purpose of the PP app. Would be great if it kept a list of recently searched products. Also, if there wasnโt just a search but somewhere that you could browse the categories (same as on the website) would be super useful too. Thatโs my two cents for now. Just really wish this app would work better.
The PowerPass App is a great tool, especially when you want to get in and out quickly and avoid contact with registers etc. Some things to keep working on are: 1. The search function is not great. I find I frequently have to search on the website then copy the I/N from the website to the app to find the item. 2. Ive had a couple of instances where the app thinks I'm not in the store and won't let me pay. This is really annoying because I've already scanned everything, I want to pay and exit the store but then I need to queue up and get it all scanned again by a staff member and pay manually. I know this is to do with GPS reception in-store, but maybe you can find a way around this problem. 3. Some additional staff training is needed as some door monitors seem to be confused by the app and don't realise I've paid already. I'm sure this will come as more customers use it. 4. It would be nice to be able to have a list of favourite items which can be easily brought to the trolley. Overall, I love the concept and look forward to seeing it move up into a 5 star rating soon.
