The app is functional. Although not without significant friction. I’ve had numerous issues with connectivity, especially AirPlay and it requiring a password to even connect to the speaker (??). There’s no way to set a password for the speaker, so you must restart it - then it’ll connect to the app and AirPlay lol. Sound options are rather lackluster for a speaker with so much oomph. Bass options specifically need some love as it’s near impossible to reduce the bass past a minimum level (technical limitation?) for instances when you just want to chill and not have it vibrating through the whole building. The closest I can get is going into the EQ and setting the bass to 0, which is still actually 20%.Updating is frustrating having the pops with “Ignored command during update” pop up at literally every stage of the update process. That whole menu is a mess.Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the speaker. I even had concerns about the AUX pass through having insane latency and they managed to address that in a firmware update. You’re doing great work but please make this app a more enjoyable and feature-filled experience!
The app is basically useless. Why? Because the Brane Speaker paired with it disappears constantly after pairing. You have to keep pairing it over and over every time you want to do any change to the speaker (like EQ changes). I cannot control speaker volume drone my device (not via Bluetooth, not via Apple Play), which any basic portable speaker supports. For some reason the $600 Brand speaker does not. I was hoping to be able to adjust volume via their app, but the speaker keeps dropping out of the app. I’ve been in touch with Brand 3 months ago and they acknowledged the connectivity/pairing issues, but they simply aren’t fixing it.
App struggles connecting to the speaker. 1 it seems to only work on wifi and 2 it struggles when you’re on the same wifi but also using bluetooth. I’m not confident the FW update feature is functional, I keep getting this, “Command Not Accepted. Ignored During Update.” pop up…
