Iโve been happily using BookPlayer for years. Sadly, theyโve recently started pushing a subscription service every time I open the app which requires me to close and reopen the app each time. I decided it was time to shop around for another way to play my books. This app does not have all of the features of BookPlayer; I especially miss being able to organize my books into folders. However, it functions very smoothly. Itโs simple and does everything youโd want a book player to do, including a sleep timer, a rudimentary but functional bookmarking feature, and the ability to adjust the playback speed of the book. Best of all, I was able to buy the app outright (which Iโm very willing to do!) without having to pay a subscription fee (which I am not willing to do). Thank you, Bound!
I managed to get several audio books into my iPhone 14. I used iTunes once and drop box one time. Both were hard. Not user friendly and one audio book app found one and a completely different audiobook found the other. Neither found both. To make matters worse I couldnโt remember exactly how I did it. It seemed like I got lucky. I was dreading having to do it again. Neither had the book cover. so I was trying different audiobook apps and came across bound. One review said it works solidly every time. So I paid four dollars and gave it a try. Wow! I can now bypass iTunes completely. All I have to do is use the web uploading page. So I open that page on my computer and I open that same page in the Bound app and suddenly itโs so simple for me to get books into my phone! I was pleasantly surprised that the book covers magically appear. Iโm not sure that will always happen but so far I put about 10 books into my iPhone and the cover came with each one. I donโt usually rave about apps but this one is really extra helpful. I love this app highly recommend.
I will start by saying in the entire time Iโve owned apple products (more than 10 years) I have actually paid for less than 5 apps and have reviewed about the same amount. So safe to say I only download free apps, and I donโt leave reviews. I had been using the book player free app for a couple years to play my downloaded audiobooks but that app is beyond frustrating. Books would never load into the app after restarting, reinstalling etc. my daughter was having the same issues with it. So I gave in and started looking around for other options. There were no free ones that seemed good at all so I FINALLY (after literally days of considering) decided to buy the Bound app. Iโm as stingy with money as can be (yep, Iโm poor ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ) but I am so glad I got this app. It works flawlessly and is so crazy easy to use. My daughter now uses it as well and neither of us has had any issues (knock on wood ๐ฌ). I love that I can speed up the audiobooks and it always keeps my place when I close it. Books download into the app quickly as well. I prefer to either download my files from google drive or do the web upload where I upload my files to a specific address and it automatically downloads them to my phone. I literally have no complaints about this app. This is my favorite app of at least 100 I have on my phone. Listen to it probably 5+ hours every day. I hope this app always works as well as it has for the past 6 months because of it breaks, I will riot ๐ฅ
