Bored Panda

I used to read this article daily about a mouse village and I could switch my dark mode on with my desktop and tablet through its settings since it was made available. I have read this article to my dog and teddy bear daily since 2019 when it was still light mode. Then they added a dark mode switch on google and I used that. Then the worst happened last year. They paywalled dark mode and used stripe gave no other options for payment. Dark mode should always be free. I find having to pay for dark mode pretty lame. I’m not gonna lie I have sensitive eyes and I have dark mode on practically everything. I find that I’ve been using the site before you had to pay for this was wonderful. Whenever you can release dark mode from its pay wall shackles it would be awesome. You should understand that some people have severe sensitivity to light mode and have a hard time with it. There’s plenty of people like me who have complained about this as well. I’m sure I’m not the only person. You should really consider getting it removed from the paywall. I don’t really appreciate it. You at Bored Panda should already know about people who have sensory disorders. This doesn’t help matters. I really wish you would have thought about that before putting a paywall behind dark mode. I’m personally not happy about it. Until it’s resolved to where everyone can use dark mode without a paywall I will no longer use the site or app. It’s unbearable. I’m typing this on an app that has dark mode on without paying for it. Next time maybe try and think about the people who have this disorder. I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in this either. Please fix in the future. Please and thank you. 🐣🧸

Not able to edit or remove comments or replies that I make. Why take that away? Sometimes I get the “you’re having internet issues, please try again”. No, I am not having internet issues, everything else is just fine, it’s only noted panda. When you click the part to see how many votes or replies on your comment/post, it does not take you directly to it. It used to do this 1-2 years ago. Now, you have to to hunt for it by clicking the “view post”, then scrolling through the post to look for the one(s) you made or commented on. Then today, it would not let me vote. Said I had to log in. Apparently, I was kicked off overnight. So I logged back in, and I tried to place my vote again. Took me back to the login screen. I did this about three times, just to make sure. Still no luck. When you click on the top three tabs of different titles, half the time, a blank screen pops up with the words, “no posts yet”, or something along those lines. What the heck is going on these days with BP? They have definitely been declining a lot in the past 6-8 mos or more.

Much of the material on Bored Panda is lifted wholesale from other sites, particularly Reddit and Twitter. Most of this material is at least a couple of years old. There is some original content which is usually pretty good, but not always. Unfortunately, the regurgitated content seems to be taking over. No effort is given to match the photos with the content matter, and, more egregiously, no credit is given to photographers or artists whose work has been co-opted. Finally, a depressing amount of the content is factually wrong; apparently fact checking is not a thing at Bored Panda. Finally, Bored Panda gives you the option to either upvote or downvote people’s comments. This gets abused all the time, with people receiving downvotes either arbitrarily or because the reader disagrees with the commenter’s opinion. This in and of itself isn’t that much of a problem. What is a problem is that BP keeps track of downvotes, and after a certain number will no longer permit that person to comment. Bored Panda users have protested against this policy, but have been soundly ignored. Frankly, I’m about to delete this app because it’s so frustrating (the app itself is very unstable and has frequent glitches.)
