Bird Rise: Birdsong Alarm

about 1-2 times a week the alarm either doesn’t go off at all or goes off not at the scheduled time. Also very often i open the app to guess the bird alarm and the advertisements pop up and having to exit out of the advertisement turns off the bird call and there is no way to get it to come back so i’m forced to guess with no sound. I debate on getting premium but if the advertisements keep disrupting the base experience i may reconsider.

I have a hard time reliably waking up to alarms. I also hate awakening to the sound of a blaring horn or some other headache inducing sound. I looked for an app like this for a long time: an alarm that has a variety of nice sounds that get my attention and has a puzzle to make sure I’m awake. It would be perfect and something I’d pay money for… if it worked. It has worked reliably maybe 3-5 times. Otherwise, like many others have said, it doesn’t go off, or, worse yet, it goes off at random times. Not a consistently different time. Just some time during the day and once in the middle of the night. I don’t understand why as this feels like a pretty easy fix, but until it actually gets fixed, unlike the updates in the past were supposed to, the review will stay 1 star and I cannot recommend.

I’m really loving this app. I frequently ended up silencing my old alarms immediately because I didn’t want to wake my partner, which just resulted in me oversleeping. This app sounds way more natural, and the rising noise level usually lets me hear it before he does. The “Guess the Bird” challenge is what actually keeps me from drifting off again. I’ve tried math-based alarms in the past, but the panic of trying to solve them quickly (again, to keep things quiet for my partner) just left me stressed. Waking up to birds has lowered my morning anxiety and is such a fun way to start the day.
