Backpack Legends Adventure RPG

It’s a solid game with a few bugs. It feels like it introduced more bugs than what the devs corrected. The 5 new barriers have made it super unbalanced and a few times have made completing some challenges impossible. A simple example is damage reflect but as you come into a boss fight there is a few seconds where the mobs have free hits on you because you can’t move but you still can attack. If the mobs has damage reflect you can’t dodge this. You need multiple builds but they don’t give you ample storage to do this. And dying late game is super expensive as it takes 10%+ of your loot with no way to bank it. Before the update I would have rated 4 stars. Since posting this review I have found a half dozen other bugs that weren’t there before the update. The game was fun but now it’s just a gem grab. You can lose months of playtime in a few unexplainable deaths. 2 stars is being nice

UPDATED REVIEW: No way to shut the awful music off… no Settings menu, nothing! Ads are VERY long and take several tries to exit out of each one. I think it’s very deceptive to claim no forced ads, then make progress stop unless we “want” the rewards. Fine, except the “rewards” are tools you need! So if you don’t watch the ad, may as well delete the game because you’ll get NOWHERE otherwise! Very shady! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Decent gameplay, no forced ads that I can see, but no way to progress unless you “choose” to watch ads. But you can’t progress without the ads… yeah, some “choice!” I also have a few issues after playing for a while: 1) Moving your character is awkward and clunky. For some reason, the game has a hard time going between menus, and I have to hit the arrow button several times. The touch sensitivity is pretty much nonexistent. 2) I couldn’t find the Settings option to turn off the cloying music! I’m forced to lower the volume on my phone, which can be a major inconvenience, especially when I can’t hear texts, emails, etc. 3) WAY too easy to wander off and very hard to navigate the character! It’s like he’s stuck in molasses, very laggy! I attribute this to the lack of touch sensitivity in the game. I deleted this app. There’s better backpack battle games out there, folks… skip this one!

Fantastic semi-idle (one thumb control) adventure RPG game similar to Guardian Wars or Fortias Saga (but better imo) as it can be played fully off-line, which is not common for these type of games. You don’t get to choose your hero at the start, but I believe there’s the option to unlock more later. As far as I can tell, there are no ads, definitely no force dad at least. As the name suggests, it’s a backpack style, where you accumulate loot and have a certain amount of space in your pack to equip and use during combat. You can unlock additional slots with gold, which is fairly straightforward and easy to do early on. Can’t wait to see, added content in the future!
