Avenue - Personalized Stories

I love avenue, my favorite app. But there is a very bad thing they did to my nine year old brain. Every story has a happy ending. Reading level middle school and still, “and Clara and Haley became friends.” When I said “the best of enemies” or “they discovered that the quest wasn’t about the gem, but about (stupid) friendship.” Bruh, like, also, I do NOT want to have to pay. Like give us free stuff! Also, I really need some no life lesson books. Like, cut life lessons off at level FIRST GRADE. not waiting until MIDDLE SCHOOL! I am a very mature person, and I am boooooored of happy endings. Also PLEASE ADD REALISTIC FICTION! and also add the character voices back. I hate Siri’s voice in all of the quotes.

So I thought this was an app to help people write their own stories. One you are able to have more control over. So I downloaded it. But this really doesn’t let you do that. I would have loved to have been able to have more control over the character(s), the narration, pictures, etc. I do think it’s a fantastic app for kids. I could definitely see this being used for bedtime stories or just for fun for them. I let my daughter download it and she thought it was pretty cool. But she wishes there was a better way to earn gems so that she can continue to create stories. Other than that, I tried deleting my account on the app, and it won’t let me. I’m not for sure what that is about. So if someone can reach out to me about this.. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Update- wrote the company and received a quick response outside of normal business hours. I am quite impressed “ Thank you so much for your email. I am so sorry that this happened, and we completely agree with you that we shouldn’t be sexualizing our children. This has been flagged internally, and we'll track down what went wrong in order to make it right going forward. I really do apologize. We're also working to maintain better consistency on images throughout the story, and we have a long roadmap to improve the choices throughout the story to make them more dynamic and replayable. Again, I want to offer my most sincere apology about what happened with the depiction of your 6 year old. It is not our intention to enable that kind of imagery on our platform, and we will work hard to improve it.”first review—->Downloaded. Created 6 year old girl character . 3D imagery. AI gave her b cup cleavage. I’m going to try to change the character but definitely won’t let my daughter create these herself and will preview. Another comment said they had trouble changing the characters. YMMV
