In 2023, I lost my physical driver license card in London Heathrow airport, but I was still able to rent a car, thanks to the AZ mobile credential on my phone. So I love the new AZ Wallet. Just a few suggestions: the app doesn’t show the Disability icon on my license plate. And the driver license doesn’t show my Veteran or Organ Donor status. FYI, Colorado allows users to put a Disability Identifier Symbol (and several other Affinity Icons) on the back of their Digital IDs. Finally, it would be nice to publicize the name of the artist who created the driver license card art designs. They are GORGEOUS!
This app functions fine but the website still references the AZ Mobile ID app (which no longer works) …NOT Arizona Wallet. Please make the documentation and site verbiage consistent with your chosen app!
I don’t review apps, but this needs one. I’ve been using the state’s previous AZ Mobile ID app. It was a pain to set up my mobile ID in that app previously. I just realized today that not only was that mobile ID not tied to my AZMVDNow account, but there appears to be no way to link my mobile device (which still has my mobile ID), seemingly because this new Arizona Wallet exists (AZDOT says this replaces the Mobile ID app). So, here I am giving this a try because I’m also trying to use the eTitle Transfer function on the website for a used vehicle purchase and I need to authenticate that process with either a webcam (which I don’t have) or the mobile ID (which apparently I have in an obsolete app that can’t be used). So that’s the starting BS behind this review. Now, I’ve downloaded the new Arizona Wallet app. It’s forcing me to turn on notifications and Bluetooth access. I don’t want notifications. I don’t want to give it Bluetooth access. I don’t need NFC functionality. I do not intend to use my phone as a replacement for a physical plastic ID, ever. I just want to create a mobile ID and link it to my MVDNow profile. After enabling both just to get to the point where the app would stop harassing me about access so I can try to scan my ID in to start the process…error message. I’m done with it; app deleted. Find another app developer, because this is utter trash.
