Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard

The app is relatively simple, but good for controlling my kids’ two Kindle Fire tablets. Something is slightly dodgy, though when I give them more time. One of them shows this immediately, but the other one often takes a restart or quite a while to unlock and allow more time. Another critical feature is the ability to make the tablet play a sound, so it’s easy and quick to find. One of the kids always knows where it is. The other never remembers where it was put down. Finally, it would be really useful to know how large each app and video or series is, to better manage memory on the tablets. I like that the app shows what’s loaded, but there’s no way to tell how much memory an app or series is using.

I’m sorry, but any device that has the potential to give my kid (or any child) access to a web browser / explicit material deserves less than one star, and should be illegal. I had not toggled the “web browser” setting on this app, thinking that if I didn’t turn it on, there wouldn’t be access to a web browser. Turns out, my kids had access for the last 3 months, since we bought them. Some innocent searches led to much, much worse. Had I known, I would never have purchased a kindle kid’s paperwhite for them… they are going in the fire now and I will warn all parents to not repeat my mistake. I know I’m not the only parent out there who this has happened to… speak out if this has happened in your family! Help another parents and let’s protect our children since we can’t trust the people who make this technology.

Daily Screen time won’t allow you to edit/modify and set up screen when select just redirects you back to the main page worst app ever and to think I was happy to see more parent safety features available easily to control from an app, but not worth the download I’m deleting app if I could give zero stars I would highly disappointed
