I’m not one for task or location specific apps. I’ve tried a few and, mostly, have deleted them immediately because the Safari web browser interface on my IPhone SE-size phone is better…which is amazing because it’s a pretty low bar for such a small display with wretched autocorrect and virtual keyboard. Yet, many app developers still fail at creating a user-friendly interface. I discovered All-Classsical Portland on a business trip years ago and have listened online ever since; when I became aware recently of the All-Classical app, I thought I’d give it a go. Lo and behold…it was AMAZING. I listen to other classical stations (even local to my home) and…the apps for listening are crap and still, I revert to the Safari browser. All-Classical Portland app has an amazing iPhone interface…why can’t more apps be this good? And with that, you have my long-winded opinion. By the way, I love this station.
I stumbled upon All classical recently, and I cannot tell how grateful I am that I did. I enjoy classical music of all nationalities, but more so western classical. The quality of the curation, the warm hosts, the succinct and meaningful prefaces to each piece. And more importantly, the superior streaming quality makes this one of the best listening experiences of all time. I plan to become a sustaining member soon. Thanks to all who are make this happen every hour, every day. It is a blessing.
This is my most-played music station. I play its’ soothing sounds to go to sleep by, and as background when I read. And, of course, when I want to listen to a particular broadcast! For 2020 I’m working on streaming All Classical more than Netflix, Prime and other video streaming apps. One major request: Currently there’s no “what’s playing “ showing up on the Apple TV 4 app, a major feature which I refer to often on my iPhone, iPad and Apple TV 3. Please add that to the Apple TV 4 version! It’s an important component of learning about what I’m listening to. Thanks!
