Update 2 weeks after my original review: the app is working now. I was able to use my EVgo credits too. Original review: Very poor quality app. It took 4 calls to acura support to get the app to connect to my car. It showed battery percentage and miles range and ev credit. Then 2 weeks later again the app is disconnected from my car and after 3 calls to acura ev and onstar (Finish activation message has the onstar logo and acura staff also told me to contact onstar), the same error “Something went wrong…” Horrible experience
After using the Acura EV app for four months with my ZDX, I can confidently say it’s one of the most frustrating aspects of owning this vehicle. The app is riddled with performance issues, making even the simplest tasks feel like a chore. Connecting to the vehicle is inconsistent, with frequent error messages and delays in retrieving essential data like battery charge levels and range. The responsiveness of the app is another major issue. Commands like remote start or climate control often take an unreasonably long time to execute—if they work at all. Notifications are either delayed or missing entirely, making it unreliable for real-time vehicle monitoring. The overall user experience is equally disappointing. The interface, while visually clean, lacks intuitive navigation, and critical functions are buried under multiple menus. Worse, some users (myself included) have had trouble with the app recognizing ownership, requiring unnecessary back-and-forth with customer support. For a premium brand like Acura, this level of app performance is unacceptable. Acura needs to address these connectivity and reliability issues immediately. Until then, the app
By reading everyone’s complaints is obvious this app does not perform as it should. When looking at other EV app’s functionality they do work. Not to mention Tesla’s functionality, It works great. I went with Acura because I thought they are a reputable company. For the amount of money spent by every single person who took the time to write a review to let Acura developers know the app is not working properly, they should have done something by now. When you read their response to every single bad review, seems as a general reply to every single bad review. “Ohh we are sorry you are having a bad experience.” If you know we are having a bad experience, what are you waiting for to fix the issue? That’s why you beta test the app before you release it. I’m so glad I got a lease. After my lease is over, I am looking at Tesla. Not to mention, every time I try to get a charge at the worthless EV go chargers(where I got the charging credits from Acura), they never work. It has been four weeks already, and the chargers do not work. I asked Acura if they can honor the credits on a different charging station, the answer was, no. What good does to me, to have a credit I cannot use. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with Acura.
