Zoya: Halal Investing App

I don’t usually write reviews, but after months of unsuccessful attempts to get support, I felt it was important to share my experience. I subscribed to Zoya Pro to help identify issues across my 401k and savings accounts at multiple institutions. While the team was initially helpful with one account, I received no response to repeated inquiries about my other accounts—despite reaching out multiple times over several months. I truly value the mission and potential of this app, and I appreciate the work that has gone into making such a valuable tool for Muslim investors. However, as a paying Pro subscriber, I expected at least some level of acknowledgment or follow-up. Lack of support is particularly concerning for those who rely on Zoya Pro to manage complex portfolios, including ETFs. I would be more than happy to adjust this review if the team improves responsiveness and addresses these challenges for their users, especially paying members.

Zoya is a top-notch application for anyone seeking to manage their investment portfolio in accordance with Islamic principles. Its standout feature is the Zakat calculator, which goes beyond surface-level estimates by analyzing the underlying structure and asset composition of each individual company to deliver a precise Zakat calculation. This level of detail is unmatched. Beyond Zakat, the app does an excellent job flagging non-compliant holdings and provides clear, actionable insights into the reasons behind the classification. The ability to review portfolio compliance at a glance, along with the depth of information available when drilling down into each security, makes Zoya an indispensable tool for value-aligned investing. Highly recommended for Muslim investors who want clarity, transparency, and confidence in how they manage their portfolios.

This app has been extremely useful! I loved the beta version of this app and I am so happy that this app has finally taken off into an official AppStore app. This app finally makes halal investing accessible. I don’t need to be a scholar of finance and I don’t need to constantly monitor companies individually. For the first time, I can access halal stocks and monitor their compliance with ease. Some key features I love about this app are the email updates that I receive to notify me that one of my watchlist stocks have become non-compliant. The email was timely, I went into my investment account and I sold the stock as soon as it happened. Another great feature I love about this app is that I can see what each company holds in compliant or non-compliant funds to allow me to make my own educated investment. I am definitely excited to see this app continue to grow. I would love, in the future, as this app develops to see some new features like reports on spendings and earnings. It would be another great feature to add the option for automatic selling of investments that become non-compliant. All in all, this is a great research app for anyone looking to make their money work for them and to build a halal, passive income. Invest young and invest often! More over, the developers are extremely accommodating and answer emails in a timely manner. They are very respectful and I hope the best success for this app in the future!
