Xe Money Transfer & Currency

I initiated a transfer of 20K usd through Xe service on September 19th. Everything went smooth and my sending bank account was debited the same day. Unfortunately, after 13 days, until this moment, the funds have not yet been received. In September 29th, they asked me to provide information regarding my funds sources, I did respond with my last paystub and the last statement of my investment account. 48h later, for some reason, they asked me to provide my bank account statement which shows the Xe transaction and the current balance in my account. The issue that the bank statement is not ready yet and I have to wait another 9days to get it. So I asked my bank to share an incomplete bank statement and did share it with Xe. The point is why they ask for these documents 14 days after debiting my account? They could ask for that upfront the transfer and I would not send my money with them, there are many other money transfer companies that are much easier. At this moment, I still don’t know whether I will receive my money or not. The customer service doesn’t answer any of the questions I asked, they are their to say “sorry for any convenience”, “they cannot give any timescales”, “some team is actively working on your transfer”. It is very frustrating situation when you get your money in the hands of unprofessional money transfer company. I don’t want to see any one in my current situation and will recommend the readers to avoid sending your money with this company

App Store data with regard to my iPhone implied: “Works with this iPhone”, and “Requires iOS 12.0 or later”. Since (for certain reasons) i was running iOS 13.4, the info seemed to assure i should have been able to install the latest XE update. Instead, after installing the latest, the App crashed on opening by never completing initial loading. Many updates later, the problem was still unresolved. Finally, the App now performs beautifully; but only after installing iOS 18.3.1 AND XE Update 7.22.4 Obviously, the info at the App Store, that “This iPhone” should work with the latest XE Update as long as “iOS 12.0 or later” is running — is flat wrong! — “MUCH Later than iOS 12.0” — Perhaps; (idk How Much Later the minimum would be; but 12.0 is a “No Go” for “this iPhone”. Happy that the App now performs beautifully. NOT happy with the latest iOS — Lost a lot of functionality with changes in or outright elimination of certain features i used in unusual ways — slows me down a lot in those instances; and in some cases even eliminates functionality altogether (which is why i was so reluctant to update the iOS); but that's not XE's fault. If i notice the above-mentioned incorrect App Store info is corrected, i will truncate this review to “Perfect”.

XE is an ok service. They have good exchange rates. They used to be the best but there are a couple of services that give better rates now. Always shop around. The annoying thing about the service is that it forces you to use Plaid for account transfer. Which means you have to hand over to paid all your account information including all transactions, total balance and it will be an ongoing data transfer until you delete the connection. This is super shady. Why do you need this level of access to make a single transaction. And even after that, even after they have verified funds in the account, they will wait, it still takes over a week for the funds to realise into their accounts before they initiate the transfer?! Then why not just use ACH? Its free! Wait a week for funds to clear. No risk for XE. No privacy issues for the customer. I believe it is because they want to monetise your data. Which is why they are forcing you to use plaid. Because it adds nothing in form of convenience to the customer. I asked customer service and they confirmed they will not allow you to setup a ACH transfer. The only reason I gave a second star in the rating is because I was tracking a transfer and encountered an issue and called support and the agent was great and resolved my issue right away. Worth the extra star.
