Word Jewels®

The different versions are all fun. But I can’t figure out the reasoning behind sometimes getting 3 stars or 5 stars. I’ve tried making long words, not using the “free” spaces, using the free spaces, not using the power mode to swap letters or add a move, etc. The instructions tell you what to do to get to the next level, but not how to improve your score in that level. And the only measuring goal of “endless level” is how many stars you can earn. So, when I get too discouraged or frustrated, just give it a break & either go on to a different version or move to a different game for awhile.

I enjoyed the game Bookworm for years until the developers no longer wanted to upgrade it and I’ve been searching for an enjoyable word game ever since. Word Jewels fills the bill and then some with so many fun choices of games and how challenging they are. Boy Howdy Technology has captured my attention as I now play another of their games, Mosaic Jewels. These games keep me involved and thinking and they are fun and addictive. So happy I checked these out.

All of the games from Boy Howdy are so perfect because they’re completely straightforward. While they are challenging, they aren’t frustratingly so ... and you don’t have to pay for anything! This app has several different games to choose from that all follow the same format: use all the colored jewels to form words before you run out of turns.
