It pains me to write this because I have been an avid user and cheerleader for the old version of the Wise Pilgrim apps. I have purchased and used the apps for the Frances, Ingles, Portuguese, and Primitivo. Thankfully the old format was still in use for my Camino last fall. I’ve recently tried to use the updated version when planning my upcoming Primitivo and I am very frustrated. I will no longer recommend the app and will try to find something else more helpful for planning. I will probably still use the downloaded maps while I am walking.
Format of the app is wonderful. It lacks information about alternative routes (there are many) and albergue/food information could be updated. In the offline map, distances are often inaccurate up to 5km, on one occasion after the Frances joins, it is off by over 20. This makes planning difficult. The route for the offline map is mostly accurate- some stretches being on trail that the app shows as along highways. I assume it was created via bike. Would give 4 stars if the distances were accurate.
