The WaterLink Solutions App interface works well with my ColorQ test kit, but it would be much more useful if I could adjust the parameter ranges in the App to those recommended by MasterSpas for my swim spa and hot tub. That would make the correction recommendations more accurate to my specific needs. When I wrote LaMotte they replied “The WaterLink Solutions Home app is designed as a simple, easy to use program for the average homeowner and does not offer much customization or alteration to the prebuilt profiles. LaMotte also offers WaterLink Solutions Pro which is designed for pool professionals and users who require more customization to the profiles. The base subscription is free for WaterLink Solutions Pro.” As a homeowner, if you give me the ability to customize my chemicals in the App I should also be able to customize the parameter ranges. Having incorrect parameter ranges gives me erroneous correction recommendations because it calculates based on the incorrect ranges. This should be a simple update and I shouldn’t have to switch to the Pro version of the App to get this minimal level of functionality.

Some good things with this app but also some bad. It’s nice having all my results go directly to the app so I don’t have to keep a spreadsheet anymore. But sometimes it times out and I lose all of my results. But the biggest issue is the horrible recommendations. I’m not going to drain 40% of my pool because my calcium hardness is 4 ppm out of range. No one is going to do that. And if anything else is out of range you get no further instructions. This app should be able to tell me what my pool store would. My alkalinity is low but the only instruction I get is to drain 40%. So from that respect, it’s rather useless. If they can fix the recommendations and the timing out, I would give it 4 stars.

So far I’m loving the device and app. It’s simple and clean. But a few times already my phone has fallen asleep or a call came in and the app focus gets interrupted. When switching back it has lost the results I’ve recorded so far and I usually end up having to start over because I can’t remember the exact numbers. It would be great if the app stores in progress tests and lets you manually correct a test.
