Iโve used this app for many years. The last review I wroteโalso many years agoโno longer appears on the review list. I actually love this app so much that Iโm writing another review to compliment the developer and to explain why some reviewers, although in small numbers, may have found the app inaccurate or hard to use. This app is not a timegrapher that gives instant readings on your watchโs rate. Instead, it collects data points by having you match your watchโs time to the appโs time (or atomic time). Using at least two reference points, the app then calculates, graphs, and tracks your watchโs rate. You can start a new time run anytime you adjust your watch, and you can also track multiple watches with the app. The only real requirement for accuracy is having quick reflexesโbecause you need to tap the screen when your watch shows the exact time displayed on the app. If you canโt tap within about 0.2 to 0.5 seconds of the shown time, the results might not be as accurate or meaningful. Whether youโre a casual collector or a serious watch enthusiast, this app is a must-have if you care about tracking your watchโs accuracy over time. Itโs easy to use and gives you detailed insights into how fast or slow your watch is runningโsomething any watch lover will appreciate.
I was hesitant to purchase this app given itโs been 3 years since itโs last update. I didnโt want to purchase another orphaned app with no support or updates, so I reached out to the developer prior to purchasing to express my concerns. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a prompt response from the developer who assured me the app is fully supported having a full feature set meeting the needs of his user base. He also stated in the event a future iOS update caused any issues he would promptly address any problems that arose. He also hinted some small enhancements may be coming in the future. Based upon this exchange I purchased the app and while Iโve only been using it a couple of days I can confirm itโs definitely more effective and streamlined than the timing method Iโd been using. WatchTrackerโs definitely a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking to better understand how the watches in their collection are performing. Iโm looking forward to any future updates the developer may have in mind.
Edit June 13, 2020 I ended up to I sticking with this app and Iโm glad I did. I think the problems I had earlier somehow had to do with what happens when the minute hand moves past the minute marker but the seconds are not there yet. Hard to explain. Now I let the app decide the minute and make the measurement but the second hand and that works. It has a lot of nice features that the others Iโve used done, like the comments. Original review: Iโve been trying out this for a month or so and either all of my watches are extremely erratic, or this app doesnโt work. I do a timing on a watch for days or even longer, and get a nearly straight line for that run. Then I do another timing run, and I get a zig zag line, flunctuating by double or triple the amount of the first. Sometimes, itโs vice versa. So after more than a month, I have no clue as to how my watches are running. I recently heard in a watch channel, about another app, so itโs time to delete this one and give the other one a try.
