Edit: HUGE flaw, I actually tried to use it. It’s extremely frustrating because they don’t have an “undo” they have a “revert to original” and no way to save the progress. Dude… why don’t you have an undo?????? I’m writing this because I was bombarded with the pop up nonstop. I wish I never tried this app. I accidentally allowed it past the free trial, I hadn’t used it but once. they denied any possibility of a refund and don’t even allow an explanation to attempt getting one. Here’s your honest unbiased review: It’s just not useful enough to me to want it, the times I have used it just because I know I spent money— it’s an ordinary recorder with a speed, pitch, and gain. A transcriber that will find nonsense in any audio regardless of speech (don’t get this if you have paranoia). It’s better to just go to a free option or find something that is the same or better for a single purchase. I only got this things free trial for the transcription— it’s lacking ability to actually transcribe correctly let alone what is actually heard is precisely why it was forgotten through lack of use until I noticed the purchase.
Extremely useful - I record family interviews, meetings, classes, doctor appointments, my journal and so much more. This saves me from having to frantically take notes by hand! Now during the recording session, I simply note on paper, a time with a single phrase for a few key points for later retrieval and review. The ability to convert audio to text by pushing a single button is why I pay for this product. Text is so valuable for sharing, searching, printing, saving, etc. One wish list feature: allow me to Record & save file A, then record & save a new file B then reopen file A and append to file A. I am a computer programmer, and I think both the usability and interface are excellent. I am very grateful for this product!
I am a non-professional user. I record all kinds of things. For example, I am going to purchase a new PTAC (electric heating/cooling) unit. How noisy it is is important to me, so I just recorded the sound the fan makes on the GE unit we have in order to compare its sound level to that of other manufacturers' PTACs. The sound wave representation is very helpful in this comparison. I am very enthusiastic about its operation and think it will be an excellent recording tool. It is well designed and easy to use. The microphone pickup ability and the quality of the sound on the recordings is excellent. (Perhaps the credit belongs to my iPhone’s components.) The mic even picked up the buzz of the fluorescent light fixture and a running faucet 9 feet away, which disappeared when I turned them off. I have done editing successfully but have not tested the Transcription feature and Apple Watch interaction.
