Vmonkey: Kids Learn Vietnamese

Edit #2: under subscription it gives me the option now to reinstate a subscription. That is done and now i have access back. Thank you. Edit: our family greatly enjoyed this app and bought a lifetime subscription now that was taken away and we would have to pay yearly or monthly. The new content is not as beneficial as just having the books. My children learned much more with the simple book concept the games are more of a distraction to learning than an aide. My husband is conversationally fluent but functionally illiterate in Vietnamese having moved to the U.S. at an early age. I am a native English speaker. We want our children to start learning now and this allows my husband to interact more with stories like we are able to when reading in English. A few of the downloaded stories are buggy and shut down the app but most work perfectly well. I simply delete non-working stories to make for a more seamless experience. I would like if there was some way to differentiate stories based on the primary narrator’s dialect. It is nice that some of the stories do come in the Southern dialect unlike most available apps and Vietnamese material but being able to find these stories more quickly would be helpful for my family.

Hi I am a 10-year-old that is bilingual this app really fun and helps me with my Vietnamese learning my mother is Vietnamese and my father is American . I cannot read the news that well because I stopped at a very young age is very helps a lot and my mom thought it was worth to subscribe to we are still currently trying to figure out how to do that and I hope this was helpful to you this app will really help kids experience being bilingual and it’s very fun to hope this was helpful bye!!!

My 7 year old is in a dual language Vietnamese program. It is really challenging finding books that are at his reading level AND interesting. This app makes it so much easier. And the interactive books and vocabulary when you touch parts of the picture is very helpful. We haven’t used the recording button yet but I like that it has that feature. I hope this app lasts for a long time.
