TC-11

I have spent years trying synthesizer apps on iPad. The vast majority of them are just terrible, because they don’t actually use the iPads’ strengths. Instead, they are content to reproduce on the screen, the dials and sliders and keys of physical synthesizer, creating a frustrating user experience TC 11 is in a different dimension. It rethinks how to lay out the controls of the synthesizer from the perspective of a touchscreen it’s a beautiful and thoroughly deep experience.

This app is easily in the top 10 iOS audio apps ever. Probably the single most innovative and creative use of a touch screen for audio use since the advent of touch screens. Not only that, but the sound quality is phenomenal!

I have been playing synthesizers since 1975, lots of hardware and software ones. TC-11 is by far, my favorite on the iPad. It takes full advantage of all the iPad’s unique capabilities. With the different play screen options, that use multitouch, and directional/motion sensors to control the various synthesis parameters, there is nothing else like it. Along with the unique user interface, it has the best synth engine to use with it. To get the most out of it, read the comprehensive user guide, that you can download from inside the app, or from the developers website. It comes with a lot of great presets, that make a wide variety of sounds, so you can start enjoying it right away. Working good with my original iPad Air, and my 12.9” iPad Pro.
