Very disappointed in application and instructions. - Orientation of image is dependent on lens position. Being that it’s next to impossible to rotate lens when extended, the app should allow you to rotate image on phone. It shouldn’t be difficult to add this functionality. - Instructions are so basic as to be worthless. A few lines of text would be nice explaining what the various icons do. - NO information in the user guide explaining how to turn side camera on. The cable has a tag telling you to long press camera button which doesn’t do anything. In actuality what you need to do is press a button on the light dimming switch located on cable.

I was worried when I saw some of the other reviews but this app does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It also does not ask for any photo permissions, so they must have fixed that. It uses its own picture manager now. This is an app review so reviewing the device here is not the purpose but it’s worth mentioning I am happy with the device as well. It’s true that the device light doesn’t have super long range in the dark but I bought this to see inside small areas and it works great at that. My phone has a USB C port so I don’t have to use the included adapters so I can’t speak to them. I bought the dual lens version and I had to read the paper instructions that came with it to figure out how to switch cameras. Long press the physical button on the camera cord, the one near the light brightness dial. It takes pictures if you tap it and switches cameras if you long press. It would be nice if you could do this from the app too but it works fine doing it from the physical controls.

Unless the area is well-lit, or the camera is very close to the object, the image is extremely poor, so do not expect to be able locate objects with this device. I expected to be able to locate items that rolled under my bed, but to do that I need to set up a an additional bright light and at that point I might as well just lie down on the floor and have a look for myself. Perhaps this device has other uses in places that are already well-lit but I can’t think of any at the moment where it wouldn’t be simpler and better to just use the camera on my phone.
