Sunnova

I hired Sunnova and have them put in solar panels, a home generator, a home, backup battery and a car charger a year and a half ago. Accordingly, my app should look exactly like the example in the photos below. It never has. It is completely blank. It just shows an empty house there. I have called Sunnova technical support probably about 40 different times to see when this would be fixed including today and they still tell me they have no idea that according to them, they cannot set up anything to do with the car charger, home generator, etc. In fact, most of them don’t even know what I’m talking about and tell me that their app cannot do any of those things when I’m looking at the photo right in front of my face. When I send them a screenshot of the photo below, they just tell me sorry it’s not set up like that on their end and that those features are not available. They finally sent a technician out to come take a look and like other users here the guy got out, looked at the outside of my box and said your system is working and got back in his van and left without doing anything. So basically I can login and just see how much is left on my loan and that is about it for this app. That certainly could be handled by a webpage. I still have hopes that someday my app may actually be working correctly and look like the photo below, but after a year and a half I am just about tired of trying. If you are the app developer, I would surely love for you to contact me personally so that we could work through these issues with your app as clearly I am not the only customer here is not getting any information from the app. I am more than happy to work with you to get it resolved.

We just bought a new home which came with Solar provided by Sunnova. It was activated over a week ago and I have not been able to get any consistent data/ info from this app. The summary doesn’t show daily/ hourly/ weekly production and there’s no data on consumption. When I does decide to show data it’s also inconsistent and incomplete. It’ll show data for a day and then only show 1-3 hours worth of data. When I launch the app the next day everything is gone. Let me be clear, I don’t think this is isolated to the app as I’m seeing the same thing on the website when I log in. So this is like a web app. Linking to a website and serving the same empty data. What gives?? I had SunPower for a year before this and the app was amazing! I could see real time consumption and production. I could see my daily, weekly, monthly production and consumption. I have an EV so I depend on this detailed info to determine when to charge and for how long to charge and to configure how much to charge (amps) so that I’m charging based on my production and not needlessly pulling from the grid. Let’s go Sunnova. Get with the program. This app and your website as it is right now is pointless and useless.

Sunnova installed a solar system with a Tesla battery. The system was misconfigured. That is not the end of the world.. nobody is perfect. I had to call Tesla Powerwall support to identify the problem. I reported the problem to Sunnova and they scheduled a maintenance visit. The technicians were not familiar with the newest version of the Tesla hardware and did their best. I monitored the system for a few days and noticed a different problem. I contacted Tesla Powerwall support and they said the CT was installed backwards. I don’t know what that means but I passed the information to Sunnova support. After a week, Sunnova has not scheduled another maintenance visit and they don’t even have an ETA. I called a few more times to escalate the case and the representatives are unable to schedule maintenance visits or transfer calls to supervisors. The purchase contract includes support for 25 years. They were paid up front for the solar system. Based on my experience, I would suggest finding a different solar provider.
