Stellar Photo of the Day

I absolutely love this app! Amazing photos show us how minuscule we are! Just wonderful!!! REALLY don’t like the “meteors” as they are distracting! Lately there has been no new photo for the day. Still love it, however! I’m so disappointed! The app hasn’t worked for more than 4 days. I hope it hasn’t been abandoned! I can put up with the meteors just to get the gorgeous photos and information. PLEASE fix it!!!!! I was able to scroll back and look at past photos then the missed ones showed up. Missing one today but maybe it will do the same later.

A wonderful app with beautiful photos. Unfortunately every photo has streaks of light that represent meteors darting about the photo. This is very distracting and rarely appropriate. Mr. Surma, please delete the streaks or give an option to eliminate the streaks. Update: those shooting stars or meteors or whatever the developer calls them are becoming so distracting that I don’t even want to open the app anymore. They ruin a pleasant viewing experience. Downgraded from four to two stars. Second update: the photos presented are beautiful! Because of the meteor streaks, I have found that I go days or even weeks before I even open the app. Downgrade from four stars to two stars to one star. I think I’ll delete the app and look for the photos elsewhere.

Nice app for amateurs who just want a quick breather from out day of photos most of us would never see. Descriptions are optional but only take a minute to read if interested. As others have said the meteors are a bit distracting. Perhaps an option for more or less streaks. I don’t mind the stars since getting away far away from a light polluted area and seeing what the sky really looks like at night is beyond words.
