Social Dev Story

The title of the game is Social Dev Story which makes you believe it’s a social media development simulator or a game where you develop phone apps in general but no it’s actually severely watered down Game Dev Story. There’s also no sense of time passing as there was no year system that I could see and progression didn’t feel like something that existed even when a new platform came out. Also Platforms didn’t feel like Platforms at all. They just company names not actual devices. All you do in this game is make something and watch numbers go up for a few seconds then it goes off the market 5”then the cycle repeats. Progress also feels very slow if there even is any here.

For a free game this is a great and addicting game to play. I own a lot of Karisoft games, including the original game Dev Story. I loved that game as a child and this game takes it a step further with feeling like a true game development studio. However, this game is not without faults. For one, the game feels too grindy, and almost is locked behind a small paywall. For example, coins are a big part of this game but can only be randomly found or bought. I’ve been playing the game for over a week now and I would probably be close to finishing the original Game Dev Story. So it’s a plus for longevity but it’s a delicate balance to a game that it seems to fall short on. I have also notice it does crash once or twice a day when I’m playing it. I’m on the iPhone 11 so the software is fine and my phone is not the issue that is causing it. Overall a good and fun game that is addicting and worth the download. Keep up the great work!

I own almost every Kairosoft Mac release, including some in Japanese that haven’t been translated (I thought maybe I could guess my way thru the games LOL.) LOVE Kairosoft’s style of management games — and this one is true to form. I don’t quite understand the Power Ups - and kind of wish there was a “combo” building feature like in Kairo Park, Dream House, and Pocket Academy (still my absolute FAVORITE!) but I’m thoroughly enjoying this game. Been playing it every day since the summer started early July. Love it! Please finish translating the rest!! Can’t wait to try Basketball!!!
