Snippety - Snippets Manager

I tested this as a replacement for an old editor I used to use that now requires an annual fee and cloud hosting. Snippety uses local hosting and no subscription! That alone was the initial hook, but the responsiveness of the developer in answering all my questions and helping me to get pricing for my company put this app well over the top. I don’t review a whole lot of apps and I give even less a full 5-stars, but Snippety gets the whole package right. Keep up the great work! The one request I would make is to offer some easier way for potential customers to initially get in touch to begin with. When I started a purchase but didn’t complete it, he contacted me and that’s how we initially connected. Prior to that I had been trying to find a way to connect and had been unsuccessful. All good now, though! Great app!!

Highly recommend checking out Snippety as it's become my go-to text expander. The new AI features have taken it to the next level. It's well-maintained and the owner is accessible through his website or reddit. Recommended areas for improvement: 1. Having more functions/options for snippet organization (eg, subfolders, use-case/topic-style snippet tags, which could be auto-AI generated) with more advanced sorting/filtering options. My snippet collection is lengthy, so this would help tremendously when I'm having trouble remembering or finding a particular snippet. 2. Please more detailed documentation on Command Line Script use, more text transformation options or how to create custom parameters, and snippety-helper documentation detailing how to use and advanced capabilities. 3. Dynamic file content insertion, either by setting up some logic (eg, iterate through a directory, injecting file 1 content on 1st snippet, file 2 content on 2nd expansion of same snippet, etc). Also, allowing users to pick a specific file each time they execute a snippet with the File Content placeholder. This would help TREMENDOUSLY for LLM coding workflows and replace the endless copy/pasting. Overall, 9/10 app with some room for UX improvements!

Initially, I was super annoyed with the app (well any app that does it) for bugging me to write a review... I like to spend some time using an app, on my own time, to see how it fits into my workflow, before I leave a review.. Well I spent some time, so I'm updating the review.. The app has become one of the must have tools in my daily workflow. I don't really use it how most folks would, but it is still super helpful. I use it alot for keeping templates in for when I'm entering data into company Bug Tracker (JIRA.) It helps to keep each entry tidy and following the same outline so its easy to find the information I need. I spent a while looking for an app, that would not only do text expanding, but also let me input custom text as needed because the expanded text is not always the same. Especially when your filling out bug tickets. I could accomplish this in Alfred as well, but I wanted an stand-alone app, to keep my work related expansions seperate, and to make it a bit easier to set new ones up, as Alfred can be a bit time consuming sometimes. As for the developer, he actually takes suggestions on what might help inprove the overall experience with the app. Two of mine made it into this last release, and they are a big help in speeding up my workflow.
