Finally! A simple calendar app that works. It offers different views, it’s easy to add entries, and once I got my Mac and iPhone calendars in sync correctly, it works great. (My problem; not the app’s!) I am delighted and strongly recommend this app if you like simple software that just does its job. Well done! What would I add? Just an option to display little checkmarks for appointments that I’ve finished. No need to cross things out or change the order of display. Just a little checkmark or dot to visually mark things as done.
Background: I’ve tried a lot of calendar apps, my main one was the default apple calendar prior to this one because sometimes the simplest is best. However, I wasn’t a huge fan of the mobile appearance of apple’s calendar app. A while back I bought the solid apps bundle to try, and didn’t really try to integrate them into my life. Finally got around to it, and solid calendar is incredible! It provides a sleek design that isn’t overwhelming or requires a subscription. I also appreciate that the calendars and reminders are simply the ones on my device, so it’s still relatively secure. I know many are not fans about the requirement of an account, but it to me it is not the end of the world and simply a requirement for multi-device sync. Definitely give this app a try!
The app overall looks awesome. Performs well and has lots of options. I’m just a bit unsure on the widgets. IMO, the font sizes are too small on the medium widgets. Lots of empty space and just doesn’t look right. I wouldn’t like to have a medium widgets with the date/day on the left side and then events on the right of any. Placing all the text in the middle without a calendar 📅 date/ day looks wrong. Maybe offer another widget option? Still a 5 star app and I’m hoping the dev will continue to update and improve upon an already solid app.
