I’ve been using this app for years as a hearing person who wants to incorporate as many real ASL signs into our homeschool learning as I can. It’s incredibly helpful and well-organized. Unfortunately, at some point recently the video player updated in an unhelpful way. Now, to play the video, you have to touch the app, and the “play” triangle sign covers the center of the video for a few seconds. Since the sign videos are only a few seconds long, this often covers up the signers hands for the whole video. In the past, the controls for the video were at the bottom of the screen so this didn’t happen. Can the developer/ designer adjust this?
Amazing app! So many words to look up and easy to use. I wish there was a button to make the video slow down. Also, it would be really cool if on every finger there was a different color of tape to make it easier. Also some of the videos are really hard to see what fingers they are using
I really appreciate that this app allows you to see multiple sources and signers for the same word. This not only assures that you are finding the right sign conceptually, but also gives you a taste of different versions and signing styles you might see. This is my go-to app for a quick sign check! My only complaint is that sometimes the result most directly related to your search does not end up first on the page. Additionally, occasionally the far less common definition of a word will be listed first.
