I’ve been listening to Mike Salk and Brock Huard since 2010, and this app is hands-down the best way to stay connected to Seattle sports—especially for fans like me who’ve moved away. I relocated to LA from my hometown of Seattle and needed a reliable way to keep up with my favorite teams, the Mariners and Seahawks. The 710 Seattle Sports app gives me exactly that—smart, insightful, and passionate Seattle sports talk at my fingertips. My go-to is the Brock and Salk show at 6am PT. I’ve followed them through multiple lineups and changes, and they’ve consistently delivered quality content, thoughtful takes, and plenty of fun. They get what it means to be a Seattle sports fan—whether you’re in the Northwest or listening from afar. Over the years, the show has brought in a great cast of voices and personalities. I still miss Danny O’Neil (hope NY is treating him well!), and the nostalgia of “Boy Howdy” from the earlier Brock and Salk days still brings a smile. Mike Salk, while polarizing to some, has always been a must-listen for me. He’s opinionated, informed, and has genuine heart. Brock is the gold standard—full of integrity and insight. Maura and Lyle have been excellent additions to the team, adding great balance and chemistry. And I’ve got to shout out the Bump and Stacey show—Stacey brings sharp analysis and a bright future in broadcasting. Love her takes. Whether you’re in Seattle or thousands of miles away, this app keeps you connected. It’s a must-download for any true fan of Seattle sports.
Been listening since the beginning, more so since ~2012. I enjoy Brock’s understanding of ‘the game’, particularly for football. He gets athletes no matter the game, and has learned more about baseball. While I don’t think Salk and I would ever be friends (he is an elitist and needs to be right), I love his LOVE for baseball and generally think he is spot-on in baseball topics. The interns have generally been good through the years. I like the dynamic with Justin and Maura, although she can be too negative. All of this is to say, the show is perfectly flawed, with actual personalities and not just people spewing words to fill air time. I’m glad Salk came back to Seattle. Get rid of ranked (hideous spot) and fix the EXTREME battery drain the app puts on the device.
I bought the Apple Xs around Christmas, traded in my 6R just to increase hardware capacity to receive 710ESPN AM app (Too long a story to write here how I came to that conclusion but all was for 710 reception. The new phone worked reliably for awhile then ‘glitchy’. I have had others come to my house with their phones to try reception (rural north Clark Co. WiFi thru a dish, no wires out here). No one has been able to pull this station in! Please Fix the app. Bad enough losing Brock and Salk to a once a week podcast, now I can barely ever get the station. Maybe partner with SiriusXM and use their satellite?I would pay a subscription for reliable reception option.
