Simply put, It’s a great app. Not only allows you to practice scales in any position on the neck, but allows you to visually see alternate scales which fit over your compositions. This app is extremely helpful to find triads and have you thinking out of the box for soloing and riffing. Where it shines for me is coming up with interesting chord progressions that wildly depart from anything my thinking brain could imagine or muscle memory could auto find. The free version is outstanding but the $2.99 upgrade really makes this app shine. It’s a simple to use creation tool that far exceeds its design usage of a jam along scale instructor. If you are a visual thinker like me, it can open new worlds. Give it a go.
It is a very well-made app and extremely useful. However, I had to take off a full star because of a very sketchy website instructions. If you click on to write a review you get an option to see app support. The App Support page is very very basic and leaves unanswered questions. The Q&A page is a joke; it does not ask questions relevant to the app. I could come up with quite a number of useful questions that would actually pertain to questions that users may find unclear. Furthermore, this app support could be drastically improved by adding how to videos for each feature. I am convinced they would sell many more premium Versions if they simply took a little time to make their app support site much more useful.
I hesitated to spend $2 on the premium version but thought to myself, why not, it’s only $2. now that i have it i would easily buy it again for $100. i’m gonna say that one again. i would wholeheartedly be willing to spend $100 on this app if i ever needed to buy it again. this app completely blew my expectations out of the water. everything i need to refer to for notes, scales, modes, and everything in between is found in this app. 15/10 rating. i want to marry the person who made this thing but i am already humbled and intimidated by their intelligence.
