As someone who commutes, I tend to miss out on a lot of things. The commuter lot is quite far from the main campus and it’s quite the walk. My last class is at the Kresge art building and it ends roughly at nine pm. Which means the bus that goes to the lot is down (no other bus gets really close to the lot). I commute to school four days a week and I end up only having to walk alone one day (I have a friend who walks with me the other three). So I was actually pretty relieved to find an app that could potentially help me get across campus in the dark with less of a risk of anything happening. “Was” being the key word there as this app doesn’t really help me at all. I tried the safe ride (as the other two don’t really work for me) and it made me instal another app. Which would have been fine if that app actually worked. It’s pretty frustrating trying to find a safe way to get across campus only to reach a dead end. Especially if it takes me around 25-30 minutes to get to the lot and on top of an additional 30-40 minutes to drive home. I’m very disappointed and will be stuck walking alone in the dark across campus.
