The app is attractive, it's well laid out, and generally fast. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to get the solar panel view to rotate on iPhone. It's totally sideways on a 45° angle, so I can't zoom it up to see it more, because the edges will go off-screen. On the webpage, it has an option to click the compass at the bottom and rotate that. I thought a pinched to rotate on the iPhone or iPad would work, but it doesn't. Otherwise, it's a really great app. More app developers could learn from this one.
Aside from the name (S-Miles makes it feel a little juvenile), the app covers the basics. The main screen shows where power is coming from and where it is going. I can see the charge state of my batteries and if they are being charged or discharged, how much energy your solar panels are generating, etc. There is a screen with graphs that show energy flow and the state of charge of the batteries. Selecting a point on the graph tends to obscure the graph with the data associated with that point I’ve filed that as a problem with their help desk (they use Zen Desk), so I’ll see how well they set things up. The app is a bit power hungry, but that should be less of a problem as the newness wears off.
First, I Like the look and Dark Mode in the new APP. Also the presentation of the single panel that shows the current production is nice. But it does not show the exact production percentage. It would be cool if the exact percentage was displayed in the roof mounted solar panel. Thank you.
